Do you have an old printer that you no longer use? Did you know that throwing it out wastes valuable resources that can otherwise be recycled?

Electronic waste is Canada’s fastest growing component of  the waste stream, as more than 140,000 tonnes of obsolete equipment accumulate in Canadian landfills each year and that is expected to triple by 2010.

In order to divert this build-up of electronic waste, Hewlett-Packard and Staples Business Depot is proud to offer FREE printer recycling for consumers from January 24th – 29th, 2007.

“Staples Clean Up” in partnership with “HP Planet Partners” enables simple and convenient recycling of any brand of printers or printer components. Return your old equipment at any Staples Depot in Canada and receive a rebate for select HP printers. There are absolutely no obligations to re-purchase.

You will feel comfort in knowing that your old printer is being recycled in an environmentally responsible manner through HP’s Planet Partners Recycling Program. All printers are 100% recycled – nothing is sent to landfills or exported to developing countries.

While Staples is making it easier for customers to recycle their electronic waste, HP is working hard and leading the industry in reducing packaging and substances of concern in its products - making end-of-life electronics more recyclable.

To learn more about HP Canada’s environmentally responsible recycling program and how you can recycle scanners, fax machines, personal computers, desktop servers, monitors and handheld devices, visit us at www.hp.ca/recycle.
