When the creators of
Shrek finally identified the perfect shade of green for their ogre's skin tone, they knew they had it exactly right. From then on, that emerald complexion would need to be precisely replicated over and over again — from the artist's painting to the computer monitor, printed proofs and the big screen.
So, it's no surprise that when DreamWorks wanted to improve color-matching and control in their production workflow, they turned to HP. In fact, HP has been working with DreamWorks on new technologies since 2001, when the two companies joined forces on Shrek.
During production of
Shrek the Third, opening on May 18, DreamWorks' artists knew they were looking at the right color every time, thanks to HP DreamColor Technologies.
