In today's world of 'mashed media' – words, pictures, video, songs – the question is: 'How do people publish this?'
Print 2.0 is the answer. You can now express yourself more powerfully and effectively with new ideas and online tools for printing from HP. Forty-eight percent of all pages printed at home are from the Internet. But often it is nearly impossible to print exactly what you want. HP is changing all that. The next generation of HP Smart Web Printing will enable customers to not only print usable pages, but also arrange the content on the page prior to printing, so the print they get is the print they expect.
"Expressing your thoughts, ideas and sharing special moments with your family, friends or customers is what Print 2.0 is all about – and HP is there to help you do that," explained Bill DeLacy, Senior Vice President & General Manager of HP’s Imaging and Printing Group for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Do you find it hard to print from many of your favorite Web destinations? With Print 2.0, HP is embedding print services in popular Web sites, making it easier to print usable pages.
The HP Print It! button will be a visual cue to Web surfers everywhere that a superior printing experience is available – thanks to free HP technologies. When users click the HP Print It! button they can expect an attractively formatted document ready for printing.
For example, HP has already collaborated with ViaMichelin, a leading map provider in Europe with more than 28 million monthly visits to its online mapping service. The website now offers customers improved map-printing by aligning what is seen on-screen with what is printed on the page.

HP has formed alliances with Windows® Live Spaces and Yahoo!, making it possible for anyone to be their own publisher. Ultimately, users will be able to create – from the site of their choice – a poster with their personal photo, a coffee table photo book or a map of the family tree.
Windows Live Spaces
Snapfish, HP’s online digital photo printing service, has been selected by Microsoft to provide online printing for customers of Windows Live Spaces. Through this alliance, Snapfish and Spaces customers get the best of both worlds – all the community sharing features in Spaces, combined with Snapfish's superb online printing.
One click
Download the HP Smart Web Printing utility to start printing on the Web – Just click on the HP Yahoo! Printing Toolbar. It will also give you access to free online classes, printing tips, creative projects and customer support. The toolbar is expected to be available for free download this autumn and will be included as an option on the driver for HP's consumer inkjet printers, cameras and scanners in the near future.
“This is not about doing the same things differently – this is about doing new things,” said Rebekah O’Flaherty, HP’s VP Marketing of Imaging and Printing Group for Europe, Middle East and Africa. “It is HP's invitation to customers to have new printing experiences in a digital and Web centric-environment.”
HP has established a print community for consumers, a first for the company. These wikis enable customers to collaborate on print projects across the globe, share ideas and access tips and "how-to" information in subjects ranging from printing, crafts and digital photography to small business marketing and branding.
HP is increasing the speed of printing – and lowering the cost – for everyone.
Print simply. HP has introduced the industry’s first touch-screen on a compact photo printer.
Print economically. Almost all HP inkjet printers are now shipped with new Best Choice inkjet cartridges allowing customers to save money.
Print quickly. The HP Officejet H470 Mobile Printer is one of the world's fastest mobile printers(1), with optional wireless connectivity and a long-lasting battery.
Help conserve resources. HP's smallest and most compact laser printer series, the HP LaserJet P1005/P1006 Printer, features a patented toner, engineered to use less energy over an extended period of time.
